The Best Protein Powders for Energy Bites
One of the biggest questions I get asked is what my favorite protein powder is. That’s a tough one! There are so many great options out there. I typically prefer plant-based protein powders in general. Here are a few of my favorites, especially for making energy bites:
Protein Bites Too Dry?
Something that will make or break the texture of these cookie dough protein bites is the texture and quality of your almond butter. If the almond butter is creamy (and typically works best at room temperature), then they should turn out great!
However, if your almond butter is a bit dry, try adding just a little bit more maple syrup or mixing the almond butter with a creamier peanut butter. Add 1 Tablespoon at a time until the texture is right!
How to Store Cookie Dough Protein Balls
While Cookie Dough Protein Balls can be stored at room temperature, I recommend storing them in the refrigerator to make them last longer. Keep them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks!
You can also make a double batch of this recipe and freeze half of it for later. Freeze the energy bites in an airtight container for up to 3 months! When ready to enjoy, simply let them thaw in the fridge the night before.

Any ideas?

Is he allergic to cashews? Cashew butter is a great alternative. Sunflower Butter is another good option, too!

Can I take away the vanilla protein powder? Thanks, Flavia

I’m allergic to Almonds. What can I use as a substitute?
Christine McMichael replied:
Cashew butter should work great if you can’t use almond butter! Another option would be to use peanut butter, but that will change the flavor. Enjoy the recipe!
