I have a protein bar obsession. Possibly addiction. Maybe it’s weird, but I really love trying out new protein bars and finding my favorite ones! I almost always have one after my workout or as an afternoon snack. It’s like a sweet, healthy afternoon treat!
My sister calls them glorified candy bars. And while that may be partially true, I personally like candy bars (who doesn’t??) and protein bars actually help me out with afternoon sweet cravings. While many of them can be loaded with sugar, today I’m sharing my favorite protein bars (specifically for weight loss or healthy eating goals) that are wholesome and nourishing!

A Quick Note About Weight Loss
Everyone has different goals when it comes to healthy eating. Whether it’s losing weight, gaining weight, maintaining, or simply finding ways to nourish your body and live a wholesome life, every goal is welcome here. Ultimately, it’s important to know what your body needs and embrace the bodies we’ve all been given! I’m not a doctor or a dietician, so be sure to consult them before starting any new weight loss or fitness plan. This post is simply about the protein bars that I love!
Protein Bars for Weight Loss – Higher Protein, Lower Sugar
In my search for the best protein bars, I looked for the ones that had a higher amount of protein and a lower amount of sugar (but still ACTUALLY tasted good). I also tried to find bars that were around 200 calories or less for snacking! Here are the BEST protein bars for weight loss:
1. KiZE Bars
Forever my hands-down FAVORITE protein bar. KiZE Bars are made with only 6 ingredients, have 210 calories, 9g of protein, and 14g of sugar. Sweetened with honey and dates (no fake sugar here) and a delicious texture (not too chewy, not too soft), these bars are truly the best ever for weight loss or healthy eating. TRUST ME: You need these in your life!
2. Larabar Protein Bars
Another one of my favorites. Larabar Protein Bars are SO filling and taste like an indulgent treat! All the goodness of regular Larabars, but made with vegan pea protein, these bars have around 220 calories, 11g of protein, and 19g of sugar. They’re also higher in fiber!
3. Tone It Up Bars
Tone It Up Protein Bars are plant-based, made with real ingredients, filling, and delicious. The soft texture combined with hearty, sweet flavors makes you feel like you’re eating a cookie or baked treat! These bars have 170-180 calories, 10g of protein, and only 8g of sugar.
4. Homemade Peanut Butter Protein Bars
Not loving the protein bar options out in the world? Make your own! These Homemade Peanut Butter Protein Bars can be adjusted to taste and nutritional needs. Feel free to use more or less agave or honey to adjust to the desired amount of sweetener!
5. Quest High Protein Bars
With so many amazing and delicious flavors, Quest Bars tend to have a high amount of protein while maintaining a lower amount of sugar and calories! With 20g of protein, 2g of sugar, and around 5g net carbs, these indulgent bars almost seem too good to be true. My only thing agains these bars is that they use Erythritol and Stevia to sweeten, which aren’t my favorite. But if you’re serious about lowering your sugar intake, these bars are delicious and a great way to achieve your goals!
6. Kind Protein Bars
With 12g of plant-based protein and no artificial sweeteners, these whole protein bars are gluten-free and have a low glycemic index. I love how nourishing and tasty Kind Protein Bars are! Perfect for staying on track and indulging in a tasty treat.
