7 Simple Ingredients
This healthy snack can easily be made vegan with just a few simple swaps. Here’s what you’ll need to make these easy Cake Protein Bites!
Energy Bites
Vanilla Protein Powder – This Vanilla Protein Powder is one of my current faves for energy bites!
Oat Flour – The oat flour in this recipe helps to add texture and nutrition. Don’t have oat flour on hand? Simply blend rolled oats into a flour-like texture and you’re good to go!
Cashew Butter – Cashew butter, almond butter, or any type of mixed nut butter works great in this recipe! The only one I probably wouldn’t recommend is peanut butter, due to its strong flavor.
Honey – A little bit of honey (or agave syrup) sweetens these bites and helps to hold them together.
Maple Syrup – The maple syrup also helps to sweeten this recipe. Want something a little less sweet? You can cut the maple syrup down (up to 2 Tablespoons)!
Topping
White Chocolate Chips – The white chocolate chips are melted and drizzled over the bites for a next-level treat!
Sprinkles – They aren’t birthday cake protein bites without sprinkles! These dye-free sprinkles are the best for a better-for-you option.

Tips
- You don’t have to melt the white chocolate if you don’t want to! Feel free to just mix in the white chocolate chips and sprinkles if that’s easier.
- I love these mini white chocolate chips for mixing them in!
- Easily make this recipe vegan with a plant-based vanilla protein powder, agave syrup instead of honey, and dairy-free white chocolate chips.
How to Store
Personally, I like to keep these in the fridge. I think they hold up better and honestly taste amazing this way! However, you can keep them at room temperature once they are set.
To store, keep these cake energy balls in an airtight container at room temp for 3-5 days or in the refrigerator (recommended) for up to 2 weeks!
