Cilantro Lime Sauce

This easy-to-make Cilantro Lime Sauce can be drizzled over just about anything! The tangy and citrusy flavors are balanced by the creamy texture of your choice of yogurt or sour cream. You really can't go wrong with this 5-minute sauce for tacos, rice bowls, salads, and so much more!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole milk plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons lime zest
  • 1-2 Tablespoons lime juice
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro leaves
  • salt/pepper to taste

Instructions

Method #1 - Mix Together

  • Place the yogurt, lime zest, lime juice, and finely chopped cilantro leaves in a bowl or salad shaker.
  • Whisk the ingredients together for a thicker sauce!

Method #2 - Blend

  • Place the yogurt, lime zest, lime juice, and cilantro leaves in a blender or food processor.
  • Blend until smooth for a thinner, smoother sauce!

Notes

  • The mixing method tends to result in a thicker sauce, while the blending method results in a thinner/runnier texture.
  • If you plan on using the sauce as a dip, you may consider the mixing method. If you plan on using it to drizzle over food or as a salad dressing, the blender method may be best!
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of lime juice in this recipe to your own personal taste and desired texture.
  • I recommend starting with 1 Tablespoon of the lime juice, then adding more as needed/to taste!
