Ingredients

  • 1 lb dried chickpeas
  • water
  • salt

Instructions

  • Soak the chickpeas for at least 30 minutes before cooking (or up to overnight).
  • Place the chickpeas in a pot or dutch oven and cover with water by about an inch.
  • Bring the water to a simmer and add salt.
  • Simmer for about 1.5 to 2 hours, checking and stirring occasionally.
  • Once the chickpeas are soft, drain the excess water and store in the refrigerator for up to a week!

Notes

  • Slow Cooker: You can also make these in the slow cooker! Cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 5-6 hours.
  • Store homemade chickpeas in the refrigerator for 5-7 days or freeze for up to 3 months!
