1 lb dried chickpeas water salt
Soak the chickpeas for at least 30 minutes before cooking (or up to overnight).
Place the chickpeas in a pot or dutch oven and cover with water by about an inch.
Bring the water to a simmer and add salt.
Simmer for about 1.5 to 2 hours, checking and stirring occasionally.
Once the chickpeas are soft, drain the excess water and store in the refrigerator for up to a week!
Slow Cooker: You can also make these in the slow cooker! Cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 5-6 hours.
Store homemade chickpeas in the refrigerator for 5-7 days or freeze for up to 3 months!
