Smoothie bowls are definitely a rotation regular around here for our weekly breakfasts! From Pineapple Smoothie Bowls to Dragon Fruit Smoothie Bowls and more, I probably make one every other day. It’s like having a frozen dessert for breakfast, but it’s secretly healthy and full of nutrition!
I’ve been making this exact Strawberry Acai Smoothie Bowl recipe ever since I was about 30 weeks pregnant with my first baby in the middle of the fullness of Oklahoma summer heat. Once I discovered this blend of ingredients, I knew I had to share it with you guys, and it’s been a favorite in our home ever since! You guys are going to LOVE this easy breakfast

Why make a smoothie bowl and not a regular smoothie?
I’ve had a lot of questions about smoothie bowls lately. Specifically: WHY. Why a smoothie bowl? Why not just go regular smoothie?
I love a regular ‘ol mix n’ go smoothie. They’re convenient and quick, and loaded with nutrition. However, smoothie bowls are great because some people enjoy eating their breakfast instead of drinking it and because it’s a little bit thicker than a regular smoothie, which means that healthy toppings can be added (like granola, fresh fruit, shredded coconut, chia seeds, goji berries, sliced almonds, and honey)!
So while those are my reasons for smoothie bowls, you could easily make this into a regular smoothie by using less of the yogurt and adding in a little bit of juice. Either way, this Strawberry Acai Smoothie Bowl is a total win!
Acai Smoothie Ingredients
This is one of those 5-minute breakfasts that feels like a treat, but it’s actually full of protein and super refreshing. I’m obsessed! Here’s what you’ll need:
- Sambazon Açaí Performance Protein Superfruit Pack (strawberry flavor) – You can also use the regular Acai Packs and add in 1 scoop of protein powder, instead!
- Frozen strawberries – Mixed berries work great, too.
- Banana – This is what makes it naturally sweet and extra creamy. If your banana is super ripe, it’ll be even better!
- Plain Greek yogurt – Adds protein and makes the smoothie bowl thick. Vanilla Greek yogurt works if you want it a little sweeter.

How to Make an Acai Smoothie Bowl
It’s as easy as blend, pour, top, and enjoy. The key is keeping it thick so it eats like a bowl, not a drink. Here’s how to make the perfect Acai bowl:
- Add the açaí pack, frozen strawberries, banana, and Greek yogurt to a blender.
- Blend until completely smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.
- If it’s too thick to blend, add a tiny splash of water or milk, then blend again.
- Pour into bowls and add your favorite toppings.
- Serve right away while it’s thick and cold.

Smoothie Acai Bowl Variations
- I used greek yogurt in this recipe, but it can easily be made vegan just by replacing the yogurt with a vegan yogurt option!
- You can thicken or thin out this smoothie bowl simply by adjusting the amount of yogurt. More yogurt will thin it out, less will thicken it!

I am trying to eat healthier and this would be a great start! This particular one looks delicious as always. I pinned the recipe. Now all I need to do is find me some acai berries. For some reason, they don’t sell them so often here and I’ve never seen them frozen. Too fancy I guess. Lol.
Christine McMichael replied:
Tanya! Thank you SO much. Your comment seriously made my day!!! 🙂 You’re so sweet! Smoothie bowls are super easy to make, so I definitely recommend them if you’re starting to eat healthier. You will have to let me know what you think when you try it out! Acai berries are actually pretty difficult to find haha, but I just buy the frozen packs from the health food store! It seems that only certain stores have them (the other stores need to get on board!!!). Enjoy the recipe, friend! 🙂
