Welcome to the bucket list series, friend!
Something I’ve always thought would be fun to do is to create a bucket list for each month. There are so many things that I always want to do, but never get around to! My hope is that by creating a bucket list for each month, I’ll stay true to those goals and maybe inspire you to create one of your own (or add to the template below). Think of this as a mix of us chatting about what’s been going on, what’s new in our lives, and what our goals and hopes are for the month ahead!
August tends to be one of the months I often forget about or am ready to move on from. It’s the end of summer and all I can think about are the cooler autumn days to come! Anyone else?
This year, I’m focusing on becoming more present in my day-to-day. So why not make the most out of this month, too! Today I’m sharing my August Bucket List with you guys in hopes not only that you’ll also make the most out this month, but that you’ll add your own fun ideas to this list! What are your bucket list items for August?
Happy August, friends!

1. Take one last summer road trip
Nothing shouts summer like a fun road trip! Go camping with the family, head to a fun city, take a quick day trip to go hiking. Squeeze in one last fun road trip and make the most out of summer!
2. Organize your home
What’s an area of your home that you’ve been meaning to “deal with”, but never got around to? This is the month to get it done! For me, it’ll be getting Atlas’ toys in some kind of order. I’m also hoping to organize our laundry closet!
3. Declutter
Spring cleaning isn’t the only time to get rid of stuff. A little end-of-summer cleaning and decluttering can help you start the fall season with a clean slate!

4. Go to the pool
I mean, at LEAST 5 times! To be honest, I haven’t been great at being outside this summer. But make the most out of this last summer month by being outside as much as possible and cool off at the pool!
5. Workout 5 days a week
Focus on getting a workout in everyday of the work week!
- Mondays: full body
- Tuesdays: legs + cardio
- Wednesdays: arms
- Thursdays: abs + cardio
- Fridays: full body cardio
No excuses!
6. Get back on track with healthy eating
If you’ve been in a summer slump, it’s time to get back on track with healthy eating. Find a healthy eating plan that you can realistically stick to (like our favorite, A Month Of Healthy Eats For The Busy Girl) and see it out for the entire month!
7. Enjoy late summer produce!
Summer isn’t over yet! Enjoy that late summer produce through some of our favorite recipes:
8. Sit outside in the mornings and evenings
Have I mentioned that I’m TERRIFIED of bugs? Like a crazy, irrational fear. Especially wasps. Therefore, I really struggle to get outside in the summer!
However, sitting outside is a great way to make the most out of the end of summer as we transition into fall! While this may be no big deal for many people, it’s on my bucket list to try to do at least a few times a week.
9. Have one last summer cookout
Invite friends over and have the cookout you’ve been talking about hosting. Get in one last summer cookout before grilling season is over to make the most of this month!
