What do these Easy Mexican Barbacoa Tacos, Healthy Sriracha Shredded Chicken Tacos, and Slow Cooker Beef Carnitas Tacos all have in common? Ok, aside from being tacos. We apparently really love tacos here on Jar Of Lemons.
They’re all meat-based recipes! And if I’ve learned anything in my years of cooking and healthy eating, it’s that high quality ingredients can make or break a recipe.
Which is why I’ve recently started using Butcher Box meat in my recipes! But is it worth it?
I’ll never forget the day we came home from the hospital. Our little guy had just arrived (5.5 weeks early) and we were in NO way prepared for what was hitting us! We weren’t expecting him that early, so trying to figure out what to eat for dinner that night and that week was a struggle. We ended up ordering pizza for that first night!
I remember walking up to the front door, in shock that we were bringing a baby home with us, and seeing our Butcher Box waiting for us at the door. Who knows how long it had been there since we had been in the hospital that week, but thankfully everything was still frozen! I was so grateful to have Butcher Box ready for us to make delicious and wholesome meals that week since I knew we wouldn’t have time to go to the grocery store. It was so worth it for us!
So my answer is simple and straightforward. YES! Here’s when it’s worth it:
1.) You often purchase organic, high quality meat and are looking for ways to save money.
This was me! I don’t always buy organic food, but when it comes to meat, I definitely go organic and high quality if I have a say in the matter. But organic, grass-fed, high quality meat can be SO expensive!
With Butcher Box, the cost per meal comes out to as low as $4.97 per meal. Check out the different box options HERE!
2.) You don’t have the time to search for high quality meat.
This might be my BIGGEST reason for switching to Butcher Box. I used to have to go to 2-3 different grocery stores to find the meat (and produce/products, but that’s a different story) that I was looking for. One store had the best, most affordable organic chicken, but another one had really great beef, etc. One grocery trip would seem to take forever!
I love that Butcher Box comes in on a monthly basis and that I never have to worry about running around to find the best, high quality meat.
3.) You value having the best of the best ingredients!
If that’s you, or you simply want good, high quality meat, then Butcher Box is definitely for you. All of the chicken is free-range organic, the beef is 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, the pork is heritage breed, and everything is humanely raised and antibiotic/hormone free.
