Ingredients in Apple Crisp Nondairy Cream Chai
With just a handful of ingredients, the syrup is full of apple and cinnamon flavors. Add that to the latte ingredients, whip a creamy oatmilk cold foam, and voila! Here’s what you’ll need:
Apple Crisp Syrup
- Apple Cider – NOT apple cider vinegar! Apple cider is made from whole, fresh apples and has a much stronger apple taste than apple juice that has been filtered and is made juice from the juice of the apple.
- Maple Syrup – Maple syrup sweetens the syrup without overpowering the apple flavor. You can substitute with equal parts of granulated sugar if you prefer.
- Cinnamon – Warm and delicious, it takes the apple syrup to the next level!
- Apple – Fresh apple slices get smashed and steeped in the syrup, adding more apple flavor to the syrup without any fake apple additives.
Oatmilk Chai Latte
- Chai Concentrate – I have found that a chai tea latte really needs to be made with a chai concentrate instead of chai tea bags. The tea bag doesn’t give it a strong enough flavor to add milk and ice and still have a good chai flavor. You can use unsweetened and add some of the apple syrup to it, or buy the sweetened option from the store.
- Oat Milk – In order to get the right consistency for the cold foam, it’s important to use barista-grade oat milk! It’s thicker and creamier than normal oat milk and it’s so good! You can also substitute with full-fat coconut milk or extra-creamy cashew milk.
- Apple Crisp Syrup – Add a Tablespoon or 2 to the latte before topping it with foam for more flavor or to sweeten your unsweetened concentrate.
Apple Crisp Cold Foam
- Oat Milk – Or any type of plant-based milk.
- Apple Crisp Syrup

FAQs
No! I wanted to make my own recipe for the syrup so I could make the drink not only less expensive, but I also wanted to use fresh apples and less sugar. There are several options of syrups you can order online to make the drinks at home without making the syrup from scratch.
Yes! Most of the time, I prefer my drinks warm vs iced. Simply warm the oat milk and chai concentrate in a saucepan or microwave and add it to a large coffee cup. Warm the oat milk for the foam, add the syrup, froth it, and pour it on top of your drink.
Of course! Just use equal amounts of whatever milk you prefer. The cold foam does best with a higher-fat dairy, like half-and-half or heavy whipping cream.
Yes! Simply add 2-3 Tablespoons of any flavor of syrup you like to the oat milk and froth. That’s it!
Storing Apple Crisp Syrup
Allow the syrup to cool completely and transfer it to an airtight container or glass jar. Refrigerate the syrup for up to 2 weeks, or freeze it for up to 3 months. To use the frozen syrup, allow it to sit at room temperature until completely thawed. The spices in the syrup may settle, so shake it well before using it in your drinks!
