Ingredients
- Cottage Cheese – Whole milk cottage cheese works best for an indulgent, classic cookie dough flavor, but you can use low-fat if you prefer.
- Maple Syrup – I love using maple syrup because it pairs well with the rest of the ingredients, adding a super subtle molasses taste found in many cookies. Agave syrup works great, too.
- Vanilla
- Flours – I use a combination of almond flour and oat flour to give these cookie dough bites structure while keeping them soft and gluten-free.
- Hemp Seeds – I like to include these for a slightly nutty flavor, extra protein, and healthy fats. They also act as a “glue,” helping the bites hold their shape.
- Almond Butter – I prefer creamy almond butter because the mild flavor pairs well with the rest of the ingredients. You can also use peanut butter or cashew butter, but the flavor of the bites will change slightly!
- Chocolate Chips – I typically use mini chocolate chips so I get a little bit of chocolate in every bite, but regular-sized ones are totally fine. Opt for dairy-free chocolate chips, if needed. Milk chocolate, dark chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate, or even white chocolate all taste great!

How to Make This Cottage Cheese Cookie Dough Bites Recipe
This is one of the easiest recipes you’ll ever make! All you need is a blender, a large bowl, and a little patience. Here’s how to create Cottage Cheese Cookie Dough Bites:
- Combine the ingredients – Pulse the cottage cheese, maple syrup, and vanilla in a blender until smooth. Then, combine all the cookie dough ingredients in a bowl. It will be pretty thick!
- Portion – Use a cookie dough scoop or ice cream scoop to portion the dough, placing each mound on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
- Serve – Freeze the bites until set, and enjoy!

Tips
- Blend the cottage cheese until completely smooth. A high-speed blender or food processor works best here. Blending well ensures the bites have a true cookie-dough texture with no curds.
- The dough should be thick but scoopable. If the mixture feels too soft, add 1-2 tablespoons of oat flour or almond flour until it firms up. If it’s too thick, stir in a splash of milk or almond milk to thin it out, but do so sparingly! We definitely don’t want the dough to be runny.
- Don’t skip freezing! I know it’s hard to wait, but this helps the bites hold their shape and gives them a classic cookie dough consistency.
- Adjust sweetness to taste. If you prefer a less sweet cookie dough, reduce the maple syrup slightly, or balance it with a pinch of salt.
- These are great as a no-scoop option! Skip shaping the bites, and store the dough in a sealed jar or container for easy scooping.

Variations
- Add protein. Replace ¼ cup of the oat flour with a scoop of vanilla or unflavored protein powder. You could also use chocolate for a double chocolate vibe! If the dough becomes too thick, add 1-2 tablespoons of milk to thin it back out.
- Chocolate cookie dough bites. Add 1-2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder to the dough for a chocolatey twist. You may want to add an extra tablespoon of maple syrup to balance the bitterness. So, taste the dough, and adjust before freezing.
- Nut-free cookie dough bites. Use sunflower seed butter in place of almond butter, and substitute the almond flour with additional oat flour for a completely nut-free option.
- Vegan bites. Use a dairy-free cottage cheese alternative or thick dairy-free yogurt, and choose dairy-free chocolate chips to keep these bites plant-based.
- Crunchy cookie dough bites. Fold in chopped walnuts, pecans, or cacao nibs for extra texture and crunch.
- Include mix-ins. Add ¼ cup of sprinkles, coconut flakes, candy pieces, or even dried fruit to recreate the flavor of your favorite cookies.
- Add a coating. Once frozen, dip the cookie dough bites in melted chocolate or drizzle it on top, and chill again to set.
How to Store
Once set, transfer leftover bites to an airtight container and store them in the fridge for 4-5 days or in the freezer for up to 2 months. Enjoy them cold, or thaw and soften at room temperature.
