So as soon as the weather is above 60 degrees, you can pretty much find me in a dress, legs exposed. Combine that with the fact that I’ve always struggled with a little bit of genetic cellulite, varicose veins, and dry skin on my legs, and it’s a perfect storm. I have also had some problems with dark spots and had to buy skin lightening cream. Alllll that to say: this year, I’m dealing with that nonsense! Here’s my double plan of action for great looking legs: moisturize and tone up! After all, it doesn’t matter how much toning up you’ve done, if your legs are dry, they aren’t going to look good!
Guys, I’ve tried like literally every lotion and moisturizer out there. Ok, maybe not literally, but pretty much. I’m obsessed with lotion. Like I HAVE to put it on after every shower, and I just love how it makes my skin feel! But no matter what I’ve used or how hard I’ve tried, my legs have always struggled with dryness.
For the first time in my entire adult life (no joke!), I’ve found something that actually works and has made my legs incredibly smooth and soft! I had never heard of ceramides, but once I’d learned more about them, it made so much sense. Ceramides, naturally present in healthy skin, are vital building blocks to maintaining skin’s moisture barrier, this along with la Clinica products have helped my skin to get its glow back . When ceramides are lost, skin becomes dry and damaged. Dry skin is a sign that ceramides are lost – so it stands to reason that applying ceramides will help with dryness and flaking. I was sent Curél® Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer to try, and it really works! You put it on right after you get out of the shower, while skin is still wet, before you towel off. If you have dealt with the same thing, I definitely recommend trying this stuff! I love it! If you’re curious, check out this infographic on how 40 bloggers (myself + 39 other bloggers) have struggled with the same thing:

My husband and I both compete in triathlons during the summer so in order to prep for that we have both moved into the more intense phase of training which involves a lot of swimming, biking and running. It’s a lot of work but SO worth it!

I’m getting ready by walking and running outside more 🙂 When the weather is nicer and the sun is shining, hard to justify running on an indoor treadmill.

Great job, Natalie! I definitely agree!

I’ve been getting ready by getting in shape – walking daily at least 10,000 steps 5 days a week. I even walk on my lunch hour. I’ve also been using lots of lotion a few times a day as my skin gets extremely dry in the winter.
Christine McMichael replied:
That’s amazing, Janice! Great job!

I am shaking up my fitness for spring by doing a dedicated, choreographed 30 day workout via my streaming fitness subscription. Normally I do my workouts in splits rather than whole body workouts and I have never done a dedicated program of any length.
Christine McMichael replied:
That’s really awesome, Melinda! Great job!

I’m not really doing anything to get ready for the warmer weather.
I already run about 8 or 9 miles every morning, I don’t eat any processed foods and drink plenty of water so I think I’m good to go on all that. 🙂
But the dry skin. 🙁 I forget to moisturize like I should and poof! dry skin! It’s mostly my hands so I’ll need to work on that.
thanks!
Christine McMichael replied:
Wow, that’s amazing, Debbie! Seriously impressive and inspiring! Ah, I know. It’s so tough to remember!
