This time of year always makes me want to get outside and change up my workouts. I mean, the weather is SO amazing right now! I really like running outside, going for walks, and doing these bleacher workouts. It’s one of the best times of year to get outside and get fit!
I also tend to work out harder when I exercise outside vs. in the gym. Does anyone else feel that way? I’m not sure why that is. Maybe it’s the simple fact that I’m changing up the workout, or maybe it’s the fact that I usually have a friend (or the hubs) with me that motivates me to push harder. Either way, a great pre and post workout snack is a MUST!
These Honey Oatmeal No-Bake Energy Bites are a great way to fuel up or recover from a workout!
Honey is a staple food in our household, so OBVS it needed to be incorporated into these Honey Oatmeal No-Bake Energy Bites. 😉 After all, what would life be without honey to celebrate those golden moments? Like an epic workout with a friend in the most perfect weather. It’s a great way to celebrate!
I actually received this workout themed party pack the other day (containing pure honey) and it was a great reminder to take the time to enjoy and celebrate those golden moments in life. ALSO, did you know this month is National Honey Month?? Even more reason to incorporate honey into everything 😉 And to make these Honey Oatmeal No-Bake Energy Bites!

I’ve never tried making my own energy bites, and I really have no reason why. They would be perfect for after my long runs on Saturdays. I’m definitely going to add these to my must-make list. Thanks for this delicious recipe

Laura says:
I always prefer to workout outside! You might even find me doing some HIIT intervals between running segments around my neighborhood… 😉 I always do it super early in the AM though because I can’t eat before I exercise! I have tried and it never goes well. But that just means a super huge and filling breakfast as soon as I’m done! These would be a perfect post-workout treat!
Christine McMichael replied:
That’s a great idea, Laura! Never thought to incorporate HIIT intervals like that. These are definitely great for a post-workout snack!
Veena Azmanov says:
Oh I love cashew butter – I often use cashew butter instead of peanut butter. This sounds perfect for my granola bites too!
Christine McMichael replied:
Me too, it’s so delicious!

Christine McMichael replied:
So perfect! Enjoy, Pam!
Amy says:
Ha – I’m opposite. I work out much harder in the gym than outside, mostly because outside I just want to stop and smell the fresh air and enjoy the breeze and sunshine, whereas in the gym I’m in a class feeling “forced” to lift weights to the beat of pounding music for bodypump and then get out of there to get some fresh air! These energy bites will be perfect post workout either way though!
Christine McMichael replied:
That’s so funny. It just goes to show that everyone needs to find what works best for them! I think I do work harder when I take classes, though. It helps to have that motivation! Enjoy the bites, Amy! 🙂
Marisa Franca @ All Our Way says:
Would you believe we have all those ingredients in our kitchen? We love honey and buy it all the time — in fact, we’re never without. I always crave a little something after cycling. These little nuggets would be ideal.
Christine McMichael replied:
Haha, it was meant to be, Marisa! 😉 Yes, so perfect for after a workout!
