Winter after the holidays is tough for several reasons. One being that we’ve all made resolutions and have healthy eating goals, but all we really want is comfort food (or maybe that’s just me??). Another reason being that our healthy eating goals require lots of fresh produce, which seems to be scarce at the grocery store right now. Very few things are in season right now! So today, we’re going the frozen fruit route with this delicious Strawberry Banana Chia Seed Smoothie!
While I LOVE smoothies, I tend to be pretttttty lazy when it comes to making breakfast. Well, any meal, for that matter. Not because I consider myself a lazy girl (believe me, I’m making up for it with that At-Home Cardio Workout!), but because I’m super limited on time in the morning. And okkkkk, if we’re being completely honest, I don’t really like having to wash the blender all of the time. Does anyone else majorly consider how many dishes you’ll have to wash after making a recipe? It’s make it or break it for me!
Which is why I either make easy breakfast bowls, oatmeal, or TRIPLE the smoothie recipe and just thaw it before I eat it! In this case I not only tripled the smoothie, but I added a little bit of Hiland Dairy Skim Fat Free Milk for extra protein!

One of my healthy eating goals for this year was/is to get more protein in my diet. This is typically a tough one for me since I’m not a major fan of eating meat! For me, adding milk to smoothies or greek yogurt to my breakfast bowls is a great way to add a little bit of protein and even calcium (something else I probably don’t get enough of).

Strawberry Banana Chia Seed Smoothie
- 2 cups frozen strawberries
- 1 banana
- 1 cup Hiland Diary Skim Fat Free Milk
- 2 Tbsp chia seeds
Blend everything together and enjoy!
