Ingredients for Easy Sweet Potato Soup Recipe
I love that this creamy, cozy sweet potato soup uses simple, easy-to-find ingredients. Here’s what you’ll need for this recipe:
-
Coconut Oil – Adds a subtle richness and helps lightly sauté the sweet potatoes. Olive oil works too if that’s what you have on hand!
-
Sweet Potatoes – The star of the show! Their natural sweetness creates a silky smooth base for this comforting soup.
-
Vegetable Broth – Keeps things light while adding savory depth. You can also use chicken broth if you’re not making it vegetarian.
-
Dried Minced Onion – Brings in a little umami without the fuss of chopping. Fresh onion works, too—just sauté it with the sweet potatoes!
-
Garlic Powder – For a mellow, garlicky flavor that blends right in. Feel free to sub in fresh garlic if you prefer.
-
Cinnamon – A touch of warm spice that pairs so perfectly with sweet potatoes!
-
Agave or Honey – Just a hint of sweetness to balance the flavors. Use maple syrup for a vegan-friendly version.
-
Unsweetened Almond Milk – Makes the soup creamy without being heavy. Any plant-based milk or even regular milk works here!
-
Salt & Pepper – Season to taste for the perfect flavor balance.

The first thing I have to say about this recipe is that the way you “decorated” the bowls is so beautiful! I made this over the weekend and it’s absolutely delicious. I was just testing the recipe out for Thanksgiving, so I didn’t decorate our bowls of soup, but I am totally going to follow your lead for our Thanksgiving guests and attempt to make every bowl as lovely as yours. 🙂
