If you know, you KNOW! As a pretty big Costco fan (as so many of you may also be), you better believe I’ve had my fair share of Heavenly Hunks. They are SO. GOOD. But in an effort to save money, I’ve recently been making them at home.
After many tests, I can honestly say that these are the BEST Heavenly Hunks that taste just like the store-bought ones! I am obsessed with this easy recipe, and I know you will be too. There’s nothing like a sweet no-bake cookie that’s also healthy, delicious, and works perfectly every time!

What Are Heavenly Hunks?
Heavenly Hunks are essentially wholesome no-bake cookies! They’re great as a vegan snack or dessert. You can buy Heavenly Hunks on Amazon, at Walmart, or at Costco. Or you can make them at home with this recipe!
Heavenly Hunks Ingredients
Here’s what you’ll need for this recipe:

Rolled Oats – Old-fashioned oats (also called rolled oats) are the base for these Homemade Heavenly Hunks.
Oat Flour – You can purchase pre-made Oat Flour or make your own by simply blending rolled oats until a flour-like texture is created!
Almond Flour – Adding almond flour to this recipe adds healthy fats and texture. However, it can also be substituted for protein powder or more oat flour!
Shredded Coconut – You won’t want to skip out on the shredded coconut in these hunks. So yummy!
Coconut Oil – Melted coconut oil brings these no-bake cookies together.
Agave + Brown Sugar – Agave (or honey) sweeten the recipe, while the brown sugar adds flavor and takes it to another level.
Cashew Butter – Feel free to use any kind of nut butter, such as cashew butter, almond butter, or even peanut butter!
Chocolate Chips – I used regular vegan chocolate chips, but mini chocolate chips work great as well.

Tips/Tricks
- Feel free to sub the almond flour for protein powder, if desired!
- Honey or agave work great to sweeten this recipe, but brown rice syrup would work best if you happen to have that on hand.
- If you want more ofna wholesome snack, omit the brown sugar in the recipe. However, adding it in can make it more of a “treat” or dessert!
- This recipe makes about 36 small squares, but feel free to make larger (and less) squares if you want to!
Storing Heavenly Hunks
These Heavenly Hunks are best stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They can last up to 2 weeks in the fridge and up to 3 months in the freezer!

What could I use in place of almond flour? Rice flour? I also have access to barley flour.
Katie J Cross says:
These were better than Heavenly Hunk. I didn’t use brown sugar and only had half the honey and they are still perfectly sweet. I also subbed peanut butter in. Absolutely loved! Thanks so much! This is a great starting point to then tweak and make new variations!
Jar Of Lemons replied:
So glad to hear you enjoyed this, Katie!
Kirastin says:
Absolutely loved this recipe. I made my own cashew butter & oat flour for it, and that was the hardest part. I had everything I needed in my pantry and it was so easy to throw together. Not to mention, although they taste like the originals, they’re even better! 10/10
Kirastin says:
This recipe exceeded my expectations. It taste so close to the real thing! I’ll definitely be making these again!
Michelle says:
What is the serving size for the nutrition? Is it based on one of the 36 squares of the 8×8 pan? Thanks!
Christine McMichael replied:
The nutrition is for 1 square. Enjoy the recipe!
Cheryl says:
Thank you for the recipe, my family loved them! They taste better than the originals 🙂

So glad you enjoyed them, Cheryl!
Natalie says:
Okay these were AMAZING! I love the heavenly hunks, but they’re so expensive, so I’ve basically given up on them. This was so easy and I had everything on hand! My only dilemma was there weren’t enough chocolate chips for my 5 year old, so next batch I’ll do more. Other than that, so great. 10/10. Will make again and again!
Jar Of Lemons replied:
I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed this recipe, Natalie! Thanks for making it!
Christine says:
A little salty for my taste but otherwise spot on!! 🙂

What would be the best substitute for the cashew butter?
Thanks.
Christine McMichael replied:
Almond butter, sun butter, or peanut butter all work great! Enjoy!
Callie says:
Any suggestions for oil free? Thanks!
Christine McMichael replied:
You could try using 1/4 cup applesauce or pumpkin puree instead! I haven’t tried it, but that would be my starting point. 🙂
