Salmon Sushi Bake Recipe
Say hello to my new favorite healthy dinner – Salmon Sushi Bake. Oh. My. Goodness! This recipe is so flavorful and comes together quickly and easily. I’m obsessed! I first got the idea for this on TikTok and knew I had to make my own version.
The bake has a layer of cooked sushi rice, a layer of baked salmon (tossed in a creamy sauce and then broiled to a crispy texture), and a layer of toppings, which can be anything you want. I love adding avocado slices, diced cucumbers, green onions, crumbled nori sheets, and sesame seeds!

How to make Sushi Bake with Salmon
Think of this recipe as the lazy-girl (or maybe effortless/fuss-free) approach to traditional sushi rolls! This recipe is also great for feeding a family or group of friends. Here’s how to make a Salmon Sushi Bake in 6 easy steps!
- Bake the salmon.
- Meanwhile, cook the rice.
- Cut the salmon into cubes and mix with the creamy sauce.
- Press the seasoned rice into a baking dish, then top with the salmon mixture.
- Bake, then lightly broil.
- Sprinkle toppings over the casserole, cut into slices, and enjoy!
Tip: Feel free to cook the sushi rice ahead of time or use pre-cooked sticky rice, instead!

Storing Leftovers for Spicy Salmon Sushi Bake
To be completely honest, storing leftover and reheating salmon isn’t really ideal. It’s always best served fresh! However, I’m a big believer in not wasting food and always finding a way to enjoy things later if need be.
To store leftover sushi bake, place the individual servings in airtight containers and keep in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. You can actually enjoy this bake cold! Or another option is to very lightly heat it up in the microwave (about 30-40 seconds) and then add the toppings after reheating.

Claire says:
If I don’t have furikake seasoning, what are other alternatives I can use that are affordable?
Christine McMichael replied:
You can finely chop nori (dried seaweed), salt, a tiny bit of sugar, and sesame seeds to make your own! Otherwise, I would try using an everything seasoning as an alternative (or any kind of savory seasoning).
