I could not be more ready for warmer days filled with sunshine and being outdoors. And with the warmer weather comes one of my new favorite things: springtime salads! I mean, I’m loving my chili and soup recipes (trust me, I’m obsessed with this Veggie-Loaded Slow Cooker Turkey Chili!), but I’m ready for something different.
Now, if you’ve visited Jar Of Lemons before, then you know that salads in particular have always been a challenge for me. Why? Well, you have to wash a bunch of things, and I’m not a fan of that. Then you have to chop stuff up, and then find a dressing that isn’t loaded with a million calories and preservatives (or make one). And here’s the thing: I typically don’t like to spend a lot of time and effort on a healthy meal (especially lunch).
Since I started Jar Of Lemons, it’s been my mission to create salad recipes that are actually good. Like, comfort food good. Like I’ve been eating junk food my entire life and I can’t believe I’m loving this healthy salad right now. THAT good. But the reality is that if I want my salads to be incredibly yummy and easy to make, then I need the right combination of tools and ingredients.

How to make this Springtime Avocado Strawberry Spinach Salad:
- Wash and dry the spinach using the OXO Salad Spinner
- Slice the strawberries and avocado
- Add walnuts
- Drizzle California Olive Ranch extra virgin olive oil over the salad
- Top with salt, pepper, and a squeeze of lemon juice (optional)

As I mentioned before, the right tools and ingredients are essential for taking your salads to the next level! I used OXO tools to make my salad making experience a smoother process, and I cannot recommend them enough. The OXO Salad Spinner is AMAZING! You can wash the lettuce, spin it dry, and make/keep your salad all in the same bowl. The clear bowl and collapsable lid make it perfect for keeping it in the bowl and for storage! The OXO Salad Dressing Shaker is also incredible. It’s so easy to use! In this case, I poured my extra virgin olive oil in it and then added my squeeze of lemon juice. The shaker mixes it together and then it’s ready to go! This tool is also perfect for storing dressing in the refrigerator or pantry. I also used OXO cutting boards, knives, and the Strawberry Huller (best invention EVER) for this salad. If you don’t have a strawberry huller, it is life changing, y’all. SO necessary! As far as ingredients go, I’m completely obsessed with California Olive Ranch Extra Virgin Olive Oil! It’s so smooth, has a balanced flavor, and is perfect for this avocado strawberry spinach salad. Springtime Avocado Strawberry Spinach Salad
- 8 cups spinach or more, if desired
- 3 cups strawberries
- 2 avocados medium
- 1 cup walnuts
- 1/4 cup California Olive Ranch Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- lemon juice squeeze optional
- Wash and spin the spinach until dry.
- Chop the spinach (if desired), strawberries, and avocados.
- Toss the spinach, strawberries, avocados, and walnuts together.
- Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and top with salt, pepper, and lemon juice to taste.
