Healthy Banana Pancakes Ingredients
You only need 4 simple ingredients to make these healthy banana pancakes, and there’s a good chance you already have everything on hand!
Rolled Oats: Blending the oats helps create an easy oat flour base for the pancakes. This keeps them hearty, filling, and naturally gluten-free if using certified gluten-free oats.
Bananas: The bananas add natural sweetness and help hold everything together. The riper they are, the sweeter and more flavorful your pancakes will be!
Eggs: Eggs add protein and help give the pancakes structure. They also make the texture soft and fluffy.
Plant-Based Vanilla Protein Powder: This adds a boost of protein and a little extra vanilla flavor. You can use your favorite plant-based vanilla protein powder for this recipe.
How to Make Banana Pancakes
These banana pancakes are so easy to make!
- Simply blend rolled oats into a flour texture.
- Mix in a ripe banana, eggs, and a plant-based protein powder (vanilla flavored).
- Pour about 1/4 cup of the batter into a heated, lightly oiled pan and cook for about 2-5 minutes on each side!
P.S: I love love love using THIS vegan, plant-based protein powder in my recipes! Not only is it healthy and great for these pancakes, it’s also so incredibly delicious. Read more about it in my Arbonne Products review!
Variations & Add-Ins
Add cinnamon: A sprinkle of cinnamon adds extra warmth and cozy flavor.
Mix in chocolate chips: Add a few mini chocolate chips to make them feel a little more fun and kid-friendly.
Top with peanut butter or almond butter: This adds even more protein and healthy fats.
Add berries: Blueberries or chopped strawberries are delicious mixed into the batter or served on top.
Use different protein powder: You can try another vanilla protein powder you love, but just note that texture and sweetness may vary a bit depending on the brand.

Banana Protein Pancakes Recipe FAQs
Can I make pancake batter and let it sit in the fridge?
You can, but I think these pancakes are best when the batter is used right away. Since the batter is made with banana, oats, eggs, and protein powder, it can thicken quite a bit as it sits and even turn gummy.
Is it better to use oil or butter for pancakes?
Either one works, but I usually prefer using a little oil on the cooking surface for these pancakes. Oil helps prevent sticking and tends to work really well at a slightly higher heat. Butter can add great flavor, but it can also brown more quickly, so you’ll want to watch the pan closely.
What kind of bananas are best for pancakes?
Ripe bananas are definitely best for pancakes! They’re sweeter, softer, and blend more easily into the batter. If your bananas have lots of brown spots, that’s actually perfect for this recipe.
