This post is sponsored by Milo’s Tea Company, but my love for their sweet tea in this delicious recipe is completely my own.
A lemon cake with sweet tea in it? Oh, yes. You heard right. This Southern Sweet Tea Lemon Cake is what summer dreams are made of! And the best part? It’s SO easy to make!
Whip this lemon cake up (using Milo’s Famous Sweet Tea for the best of the best) and serve it at your next cookout, backyard party, or summer hangout!
How to make this Southern Sweet Tea Lemon Cake
The sweet tea
Let’s talk about the sweet tea! For this recipe, I used Milo’s Famous Sweet Tea, which is an award-winning, all natural tea that contains no preservatives (yay!) and is fresh brewed with a clean ingredient list. I also love that it’s sweetened with pure cane sugar! It’s so perfect for summer gatherings and creating fun moments with friends and family!
Interested in trying it out? You can get it sweetened, no calorie sweetened (with sucralose), or unsweetened in the refrigerated juice section at your local supermarket (find a local retailer HERE)!

The lemon cake
For this easy lemon cake recipe, I used all-purpose flour. However, feel free to use half whole wheat flour and half all-purpose flour! Whole wheat flour tends to make cakes heavier and more dense, so I found that a combination of the two creates the perfect texture.
To lighten up the cake, I also used partial butter and partial apple sauce!
The glaze
The glaze for this Southern Sweet Tea Lemon Cake is super easy to make! It’s a simple combination of powdered sugar, Milo’s Famous Sweet Tea, and a little bit of butter. Feel free to adjust the amount of sweet tea and sugar (slowly – a little goes a long ways) to make the glaze thinner or thicker, depending on the desired consistency you’re going for.
