Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Energy Bites: 5-Minute Recipe!
Scenario: You’re baking cookies, but you can’t wait for cookies to bake and need cookie dough right now. But make it egg-free, safe to eat, healthy, and full of protein! This Cookie Dough Energy Bites recipe is here to make your cookie dough cravings dreams come true.
I love that these protein balls are vegan, gluten-free, and made with nutritious ingredients. And you’d never guess it, because they taste JUST like real cookie dough! You can also easily turn these into Cookie Dough Protein Bars by pressing them into a pan instead of rolling them into balls. Either way, I know this is a recipe you’ll want to save and come back to because it’s SO good!

The Best Protein Powders for Energy Bites
One of the biggest questions I get asked is what my favorite protein powder is. That’s a tough one! There are so many great options out there. I typically prefer plant-based protein powders in general. Here are a few of my favorites, especially for making energy bites:
Protein Bites Too Dry?
Something that will make or break the texture of these cookie dough protein bites is the texture and quality of your almond butter. If the almond butter is creamy (and typically works best at room temperature), then they should turn out great!
However, if your almond butter is a bit dry, try adding just a little bit more maple syrup or mixing the almond butter with a creamier peanut butter. Add 1 Tablespoon at a time until the texture is right!
How to Store Cookie Dough Protein Balls
While Cookie Dough Protein Balls can be stored at room temperature, I recommend storing them in the refrigerator to make them last longer. Keep them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks!
You can also make a double batch of this recipe and freeze half of it for later. Freeze the energy bites in an airtight container for up to 3 months! When ready to enjoy, simply let them thaw in the fridge the night before.
