Is Turmeric Healthy?
Turmeric is a super healthy spice and is used for a whole lot of health benefits. It helps fight inflammation has high antioxidant properties and has also been linked to boosting brain function and fighting brain-related diseases.
So adding turmeric into your diet is always going to be a good thing and the easiest way to do it is by mixing it into this tropical pineapple turmeric smoothie! This smoothie is great for breakfast in the morning, but I love it as an afternoon pick-me-up. The first time I had it, I was surprised at how much energy it gave me!
TIP: If you’ve never had turmeric, this is my favorite kind! I use it ALL of the time!

What You Need to Make a Healthy Kiwi Smoothie
Frozen Pineapple – The frozen pineapple helps give a cool, thick, and refreshing texture to the smoothie so if you don’t use frozen the result will be much more juice-like.
Coconut Milk – Almond milk, cashew milk, or oat milk works great, too.
Turmeric – I used ground turmeric, but freshly grated turmeric is even better if you have it on hand!
Frozen Bananas – This is a must for kiwi fruit smoothies. Since kiwi is very liquid, the frozen bananas help to create that cold, thick texture!
Kiwis – Peeled and scooped out with a spoon. That’s all you need to do!
Kale – Fresh kale chopped into smaller pieces is best.
How to Make a Kiwi Smoothie
Method 1: Layer the Smoothie
Blend the frozen pineapple, coconut milk, turmeric, and 1 frozen banana. Pour into a glass. Then blend the second banana, kiwi, and kale. Pour into the glass over the first half, then swirl!
Method 2: Blended Smoothie
This method means you save time by just throwing everything into the blender and blending until smooth! Divide into glasses, add toppings, and enjoy.
Expert Tips for Making Pineapple Kiwi Smoothie
- The pineapple can be swapped for frozen mango or even frozen apples!
- If you don’t have kale, spinach would work well.
- Feel free to add a scoop or two of plant-based vanilla protein powder!
- To create different colors in your smoothie as I have you need to blend the ingredients according to color separately. Add one half of the smoothie to a glass followed by the other half, then swirl to make it pretty.
- OR you can blend all ingredients together to speed things up!
- If you feel the smoothie isn’t sweet enough for you, try adding a little honey to taste.
- Top the smoothie with homemade granola, nuts, or seeds for added texture!
