Are Overnight Oats Healthy?
Absolutely! Overnight oats are a great source of fiber which gives you a nice energy boost and helps keep you fuller for longer so you’re less likely to go searching for sugary snacks later in the morning. They’re also full of added nutrients from fresh fruits, nuts and seeds! I love that these triple berry overnight oats have 15 grams of protein, making for a balanced and healthy breakfast meal.
Ingredients in Berry Oats
You’ll only need a few simple ingredients to get started! Here’s what’s in berry oats:
- Milk – I like to use 2% milk for higher protein, but almond milk, cashew milk, oat milk, or pea protein-based milk all works great!
- Vanilla Greek Yogurt – The vanilla adds a sweet cream flavor to these oats that’s so good. Feel free to use any type of Greek yogurt that you have on hand!
- Mixed Berries – Fresh or semi-thawed frozen for the berry milk. I also like to add freshly sliced berries as a topping! Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries – any type of berry is perfect.
- Maple Syrup – Honey is a great substitution.
- Chia Seeds – I love adding chia seeds to overnight oats because they add healthy protein and fats. Plus they make the texture even thicker!
- Rolled Oats – The base for any overnight oats recipe.
- Almond Butter – Optional, but so good! A drizzle of creamy almond butter really brings everything together.

Other Topping Ideas
- Chopped Walnuts
- Drizzle Honey
- Coconut Shavings
- Date Caramel
- Mixed Nut Butter
